Summary
Another good win team, picking up solid 3-2 wins away from home are
invaluable come the end of the season.

The Games
Sean
(SL5)
won 4 - 1
against a 4
Same as last week, lost the first and won the next four against what I have
to say was a very reasonable four. Two of the four racks were won with
three or four ball runs but the best shot was his very fine cut on his last
stripe to cover the 'black pocket' in rack 4. Solid start to the season.
Lori
(SL3)
won 3 - 0
against a 2
The void in class was immense. Lori told me before the match that whoever
played their two handicap would win and I have to say I absolutely believe
her. Lori remained patient and never missed a black when given the opportunity.
Mark
(SL4)
lost 0 - 3
against a 4
A story of luck... ...unfortunately against us. We play this team the last
week of the season and I've promised Mark the opportunity of a re-match! One
amazing shot I would like to mention though is great shot played by Mark in
rack 2 to open two solids that were frozen. That was good but wasn't the great
shot. Having left himself virtually frozen to one of the balls he'd
just split, Mark then thinly hit the close ball, came off the cushion across
the table and potted another solid hanging in the pocket. Amazing shot!
Sparky
(SL4)
won 3 - 0
against a 4
First league match ever and no nerves. Genuinely a really solid debut, no
frills but very few mistakes. Shot of the match was the fantastic time out
call from Mike to play a 3 ball combination in rack 2. Potted his ball over
the pocket, moved his opponents ball from the vicinity and left his second
ball dangling in the jaws. Also, this point won us the match... ...Get
In There!!
Mike
(SL5)
lost 2 - 2
against a 3
This was a bandit three but even so had to work very hard to get a result
against Mike. I'm starting to think that the graveyard shift might really
be a poisoned chalice for our team - perhaps we drink too much! Very
impressed with Mike's defensive game, he really had his opponent tied
up in knots and if it wasn't for the three handicap gets 2 timeouts rule I
think he would have struggled.

Shot of The Night
Mark:
Mark Lavery when having left himself virtually frozen to a balls he'd just
split he thinly hit the close ball, came off the cushion across the table
and potted another solid hanging in the pocket.
