Summary
The juggernaut just keeps on rolling! To pick up a 4-1 win against a team
that I think were quite reasonable and will definitely win matches is
fantastic. Next week we are away at Any Given Wednesday (O'Donoghues) and
then have a bye so let's keep the momentum so we can enjoy our week
off!

The Games
Lori
(SL3)
lost 1 - 2
against a 3
A close match with very little between the two, it was always going to come
down to the deciding rack and our opponent was away from the starting
blocks very quickly. Also, I have to remember not to mention Lori's
miscue! On the plus side, this will hopefully keep Lori as a SL3 for a few
more weeks at least ;-). Full respect to Lori's opponent who made an
excellent league debut but my money's on our girl to take her out next
time!
Darren
(SL7)
won 5 - 0
against a 4
Still a bit scratchy at times and definitely should have had at least one
break and run. Fortunately my opponent gave me a minimum of two reasonable
chances a rack and I managed to squeeze out on top. Thank you to Sean for
stopping me trying a 'stupid' shot whilst going for the run out in rack 5!
Must stop trying so hard!
Mini
(SL4)
won 3 - 2
against a 4
Two new players, both starting as SL4's, one head-strong, and the other a
winner... ....get in there! Marc never stopped plugging away in his
league debut against a player who really will do some harm over the coming
weeks as a 3. Needs to take his time and relax a little more but a
nerveless finish in the deciding rack. Whilst Sean and myself were looking
ominously at an 8 scratch in the final rack, Marc just stroked it into the
middle pocket and avoided the corner with the white.
Mike
(SL5)
won 4 - 2
against a 5
A fantastic match to watch. From the moment he went 2-1 down having played
a couple of loose shots Mike was completely focused and you just knew he
wasn't losing this match. Again Mike's defensive game had his opponent tied
up in knots and who can forget that fantastic 4 ball combo and subsequent
run out. The key rack was undoubtedly rack 5 where with his opponent on the
black, Mike (with ball in hand) ran all 8 balls to move into a 3-2
lead... ...Get In There!!
Mark
(SL4)
won 0 - 0
against a 0
Mark won with a forfeit! They had a player until they realized I was
putting up Mark and then he ran home!

Shot of The Night
Well we normally rely on Mark Lavery for the shot of the night, usually
some bizarre 3 cushion, masse, combo but without him playing the award is
shared.
Mike:
Mike's awesome 4 ball combo to set up the run out.

Mini:
Marc's nerveless final rack 8 ball. Perhaps not the most difficult shot
he'll play this season but given the match score, his inexperience and
the fact that everyone on the team was desperate for his opponent to
lose it was undoubtedly nerveless.

Worst Shot of The Night
Lori:
Sorry Lori, but at least you did laugh at the miscue yourself!
