Summary
The 3-2 victories seem to be a feature of our play this season. If at the
end of the season we've won all of our games 3-2 then I'm sure we'll be
right in the mix.

The Games
Mike
(SL5)
lost 1 - 2
against a 3
After his weekend heroics, our man of the moment just had nothing left to
give against a very good SL3. Watching his opponent run the final 4 balls
in the first rack pretty much set the tone for Mike! Contender for worst
shot of the night has to be Mike's miscue of the white to give his opponent
ball in hand and run the table in rack 1.
Heather
(SL3)
won 2 - 1
against a 3
An evenly matched game although at 1-0 down, Heather really wasn't troubled
again. A fantastic 5 ball run out by her opponent in the first created the
deficit but Heather came back strongly in racks 2 and 3. A simple 8 ball
with ball in hand won rack 2 and then a very good long 8 ball in rack 3
sealed the match.
Sparky
(SL3)
won 2 - 1
against a 3
One of Mark's better performances without doubt. Against a really good and
experienced SL3 Mark fought gamely to come back from 1-0 down and take the
match with a long 8 ball. Should definitely be a confidence boosting win as
he looked dead and buried at one stage. I'm sure there was a worst shot of
the night contender but I cannot remember what it was?
Sean
(SL5)
won 4 - 3
against a 5
Fantastic match played between two players who both seemed to be on their
game. Rack 1 slipped away when giving his opponent ball in hand on the 8
ball, rack 2 was won with a nice run out but rack 3 also went begging. Back
came Sean in rack 4 and 5 but his opponent took the match to hill / hill by
winning rack 6. Looking in control in the final rack, his opponents double
contact on the cue ball gave Sean ball in hand and he never looked back to
clinch the win. Worst shot of the night contender, with ball in hand Sean
somehow managed to sink his ball but snooker himself on every other ball
and give ball in hand right back!
Mark
(SL5)
lost 3 - 4
against a 5
Another very close match. The highlight without doubt was Mark's break and
almost run, getting to the 8 ball before narrowly missing in the corner
pocket. Later in that rack, Mark was forced to play a fantastic length of
table kick to correctly sink the 8 ball in the centre pocket and take the
match to hill / hill also. In the final rack, a very slightly under-hit
defensive shot gave the match to his opponent with ball in hand and just 3
balls on the table.

Shot of The Night
Mark:
Marks fantastic length of table kick to correctly sink the 8 ball in the
centre pocket.

Worst Shot of The Night
Sean:
With ball in hand Sean somehow managed to sink his ball but snooker himself
on every other ball and give ball in hand right back!
