Summary

The Games
Mark
(SL5)
lost 2 - 2
against a 3
Although Mark made a great start to move out to a 2-0 lead, his opponent
never gave up and a run of defensive / lucky shots eventually helped him
claw his way back and then close out the match with a very good clearance.
Unfortunately for Mark this was just a case of an ex SL4 playing like one
as an SL3.
Sparky
(SL3)
won 3 - 1
against a 2
After dropping the first rack with an 8 scratch that was 'obvious to
everyone except.....', a motivated and focused Sparky continued his recent
run of form by clinching the next three and the match. Shot of the night
candidates have to include the length of table 8 ball bank in rack 3 for a
2-1 lead. Worst shot of the night candidates have to include the 8 scratch
in rack 1 and in particular the response of 'No' when asked to take a time
out!
Heather
(SL3)
won 3 - 0
against a 2
A good first rack finished with an excellent long 8 ball and then
consecutive early 8s from her opponent gave Heather a comfortable night.
Not much else worth including really. Good job.
Darren
(SL7)
won 6 - 0
against a 3
After a scratchy first rack it turned out to be a bit of a drubbing in
truth. I know that my opponent is a more then reasonable player but he
never seemed to get going and I managed to get a few quick racks on the
board including a break and run.
Lori
(SL4)
lost 2 - 2
against a 3
From the second rack on I don't think I've ever seen Lori so focused and
she was very unlucky not to win the match. In the end, a very fortunate
leave with the black over the pocket and a very tough, length of table, off
the cushion 5 ball as the only option proved a bridge too far for Lori.
Shot of the night candidate has to be the 3 ball bank in the side pocket.
This wasn't actually the shot that Lori went for and it's not the reason it
gets shot of the night. The real shot was hitting the 3 ball with enough
angle to pot her opponents ball in the jaws of the bottom corner pocket and
bring the white ball out into a snooker on her opponents last stripe. The
fact that the 3 ball went in was a bonus!

Shot of The Night
Lori:
Lori's 3 ball bank in the side pocket. This wasn't actually the shot that
Lori went for and it's not the reason it gets shot of the night. The real
shot was hitting the 3 ball with enough angle to pot her opponents ball in
the jaws of the bottom corner pocket and bring the white ball out into a
snooker on her opponents last stripe. The fact that the 3 ball went in was
a bonus!

Worst Shot of The Night
Sparky:
Sorry Sparky but the 8 scratch in rack 1 and in particular the response of
'No' when asked to take a time out has to win yet again!
