Summary
After a very long and difficult season we've managed to secure second spot
in the league by finishing first in a three way tie on 61 points! If this
doesn't go some way to emphasizing the importance of those 3-2 wins then
nothing will![br/]
Read on to see how we managed to scrape through....

The Games
Lori
(SL3)
lost 1 - 2
against a 3
Quite honestly one of the most one sided losses you will ever see. Lori was
clearly the better player in every rack but two 8 scratches cost us what
looked like a sure thing.
Mike
(SL5)
lost 0 - 2
against a 3
This was about as poor a display of form that we've ever seen from Mike and
coupled with an excellent performance from his opponent meant a second
defeat of the night. Mike had shots on the 8 ball before his opponent in
both racks but his recent form eluded him.
Darren
(SL7)
won 5 - 1
against a 4
After dropping the first rack against an opponent who was clearly up for
the challenge I left myself a mountain to climb by needing the next five.
Fortunately, some element of form returned and I managed to close out the
racks needed. Shot of the night candidate has to be turning a tight snooker
left to me with my opponent having only one ball remaining into a snooker
of my own.
Sean
(SL5)
lost 2 - 4
against a 5
This match put a whole new meaning to the phrase 'roll of the table'. I
mean, has anyone seen a curl like the one on the 8 ball in rack 3!?!? I've
never seen a cue ball reverse park around an 8 ball!
Sparky
(SL3)
won 2 - 1
against a 5
Needing to win the last match to get us into the play-off's, Sparky truly
came of age to put in what can only be considered a stunning performance
against a really good SL5. At 2-0 behind we looked down and out but Sparky
knew he was playing well and that he'd had chances in the first two racks so
kept plugging away. Sure enough a nice run of the ball in rack three left
his opponent snookered on the 8 ball and ultimately ended with him potting
Sparky's final stripe giving him ball in hand on the black. Rack 4 was
never in question with Sparky playing some fantastic shots to book the team
a place in the play-off's. We saw some great shots from Sparky throughout
this match but the shot of the night has to be the final 8 ball. Not
particularly difficult but with that amount of pressure he made it look
easy. Get in there!

Shot of The Night
Sparky:
The final 8 ball from Sparky to seal our play-off spot.

Worst Shot of The Night
Mike:
Mike's miss on a straight-ish 8 ball in rack 1.
